Thermal Effect Camera Filters — Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes how Thermal Effect Camera Filters ("the App"), developed by Travel Lens, handles your information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Travel Lens may update this policy from time to time. We encourage you to review this page periodically. This policy is effective from 1st January, 2021, and was last updated on February 16, 2026.
Information We Collect
The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our servers. We do not have user accounts, registration, or any backend services that receive your data.
Device Permissions
The App requests the following device permissions:
- Camera — Required to capture photos and videos with thermal effect filters. Images are processed on-device only.
- Microphone — Used solely to record audio during video capture.
- Location (Precise & Approximate) — Your GPS coordinates are used to fetch real-time weather data (temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, and visibility) displayed as an overlay on the camera view. Location data is sent to the OpenWeatherMap API to retrieve weather information and is not stored persistently by the App. Your location may also be accessed by third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) to serve location-relevant advertisements, subject to your consent preferences. You can revoke location access at any time through your device settings.
Photos and Videos
All photos and videos you capture are stored in app-private storage on your device. They are not uploaded, shared, or accessible to other apps unless you explicitly choose to share or save them to your device gallery using the in-app options.
Sensor Data
The App uses your device's accelerometer and magnetometer sensors to display compass heading, pitch, and roll overlays on the camera view. This sensor data is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services, each of which may collect certain data as described in their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob — Serves banner, interstitial, and rewarded advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID) and usage data to provide personalized ads. The App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to collect your consent before serving personalized ads. Pro users who purchase ad removal do not see ads. - OpenWeatherMap — Receives your latitude and longitude to provide real-time weather data for the camera overlay. No other personal information is sent. OpenWeatherMap's handling of this data is governed by their own privacy policy. OpenWeatherMap Privacy Policy
- Firebase Crashlytics — Collects anonymous crash logs and diagnostic data (such as device model, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash) to help us improve app stability. No directly identifying personal information (such as names or email addresses) is intentionally collected. Firebase Privacy Policy
- Google Play Billing — Handles in-app purchases (ad removal). Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. The only data shared with third parties is through the services described above: location coordinates sent to OpenWeatherMap for weather data, device identifiers and ad interaction data collected by Google AdMob for advertising, and crash diagnostics sent to Firebase Crashlytics as outlined in their respective privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Exclusions and Limitations
The App is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Travel Lens:
- Excludes all representations and warranties relating to the App and its contents or which may be provided by any third party, including in relation to any inaccuracies or omissions; and
- Excludes all liability for damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, including without limitation, direct loss, loss of business or profits, damage caused to your device, software, systems and data, or any other direct or indirect, consequential and incidental damages.
